Perspective: The Power of Belief

Beliefs can build you… or quietly box you in.

Quick test:
Look around the room and find everything that’s blue.
Now close your eyes. What was red?

You probably noticed more blue than red.
Why? Because you were looking for it.

Open your eyes again and search for red.
Suddenly, there’s more red everywhere.

Once you form a belief, your brain looks for evidence to support it.
Even if that evidence is a stretch.

You might’ve counted aqua as blue. Or burgundy as red.
Not because it clearly was, but because you wanted to be right.

This is confirmation bias.

If you believe you’re incapable, you’ll find proof.
If you believe growth isn’t for you, you’ll reinforce that story.
If you believe change is possible, you’ll start spotting opportunities everywhere.

“Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.” - Henry Ford

The skill isn’t just believing.
It’s staying open-minded enough to challenge your beliefs.

Because when a belief gets blown wide open, it creates perspective.
And perspective is where wisdom lives.
Perspective is freedom.

Choose your beliefs carefully.
You’ll always find what you’re looking for.
